If you listen to music somewhat seriously or really want to enjoy your music, don't even bother getting these headphones, regardless of the price. the only decent feature is that they isolate sound pretty well. Within a very short period of time the cable connecting to the plug got loose so that if it's in the wrong position the sound in one of the sides diminishes greatly. After much use, the sound has changed, but not for the better. I would recommend getting Sennheiser CX300 because they aren't expensive and they are a huge upgrade to these, though honestly I think these isolate better. Now they are extremely muddy sounding, with overemphasis on the low end, but strangely you still can't really hear the low end because it's too bloated and not focused, so the overemphasized bass just serves to muddy up the entire sound. When I first got them, they sounded really tinny with very little low end. Oh yeah, they also have poor durability.
There is no detail in any register nor any instrument separation, everything sounds as if it is on top of everything else. These just suck. Also, recently the right headphone came apart but putting super glue was enough to fix it. If you have more money, get something even better.
On the plus side, these headphones are inexpensive and very comfortable, and fit my ears very well. However, they do not output low end frequencies very well, and while they reduce ambient noise, it feels/sounds like wearing earplugs. For the price, they might be worth it because of the comfort, but if you need any bass whatsoever in your music, maybe look for something else.
Whatever it is, I would like to know. Having them in is very comfortable, it gives you the 'my ears are plugged due to a cold/stuffy nose" sensation.
I just bought them yesterday (June 28, 2009) because I lost the set that originally came with my Ipod and another black set that came with a flash drive. I love my new Skullcandy earbuds.
I had my fiance say something to me to test the sound while my Ipod was turned off and I couldn't hear him lol. They're like an earplug you would use to go swimming, shooting, etc.
They block out all outside noise so you just hear your Ipod. which is great because all you want to hear is music, not ambient noise (outside stuff like cars, etc) They looked like they were made of hard plastic while in the package, but are actually very foam like or something.very interesting material.
I had to use the smallest set (which is why they give you extras-those are actually different sizes)I bought the silver/white to go with my white 30 GB Ipod classic (plays video) and I would recommend these to everyone.
I purchased these earbuds after a friend of mine strongly suggested that I invest in some Skullcandy. I like them and liked that they came with different size silicone pieces because the ones that came on the buds were too big and kept popping out of my ears. The smaller ones work just great and are very good and helping with outside noise cancellation. I'd recommend these.
I love these ear buds. I have small ears and have always had issues with ear buds falling out of my ears during workouts. These stay in place and never fall out. And for the price, you cannot beat it.
